Free Online Workshop Managing your Project (before you start)

10.00am Saturday 25th of April 2020

There’s a saying in the building industry: measure twice, cut once.

The art of a good project is to do all the legwork before you start. This means everything from double checking that your suppliers know what you want, to calling the architect up for all the answers to those niggling questions in the back of your mind. That way, when the time comes to start the build, there’s no way mistakes or misunderstandings can arise.

Clarity and transparency with your budget, and knowing the answers to all the questions your contractors will want to ask, can go a long way to eliminating unexpected extra costs that will cause your project to skyrocket out of budget, and ensure that you’re getting the right value out of what you’re paying for.

However, it’s a task that can be intimidating to newcomers to building development. It’s not just about the drawings––even the best drawings won’t give your contractors all the information they’ll want.

So how should you know what to ask to get the answers you need?

Managing your own build, especially for your own home, is a daunting task, but it’s also incredibly rewarding. If you’re a novice, then independent advice from an expert can be worth more than gold. One hour of your time could save you thousands of pounds.

In my free workshop, I run through the most common questions you need the answers to before you can employ a contractor and start your project. I’ll teach you how to do legwork the right way, so you don’t have to pay the price of silly mistakes.
